Teen Patti Show Rules: How the Final Showdown Works

Quick answer: A show is the final comparison of cards when only two players are left in a Teen Patti round. Either player can ask for it on their turn by paying the required stake. Both hands are then revealed and the higher hand wins the whole pot. A seen player normally cannot ask a blind player for a show; the blind player must decide.

When a show is allowed

  • Exactly two players remain. With three or more, the comparable option is a side show.
  • It is your turn.
  • You can pay the show amount, usually the current stake for your status (blind or seen).

Blind and seen combinations

You Opponent Can you call show?
Blind Blind Yes, at the blind stake
Blind Seen Yes, at the blind stake
Seen Seen Yes, at the seen stake
Seen Blind Usually no; you continue betting until the blind player decides

The last rule protects blind players, who are already betting with no information. Some apps differ, so read the rules screen on the table.

How the comparison works

Both hands are compared using the standard hand rankings: trail, pure sequence, sequence, colour, pair, high card. Within a category the higher cards win. If the hands are exactly equal, the outcome follows the table’s tie rules; in many apps the player who asked for the show loses the tie.

Strategy around the show

  • Calling show with a medium hand stops a costly back-and-forth when you suspect your opponent is bluffing.
  • Not calling show with a strong hand keeps your opponent betting.
  • Against a blind player you cannot force the issue; consider whether you are comfortable paying double stakes for several more turns.

Our odds tables show that against one opponent, a pair of 7s is ahead about 82% of the time before any betting. Betting behaviour changes that, but it is a useful anchor.

Show vs pot limit

Some tables end the round automatically when the pot reaches a set limit, forcing a show among all remaining players. See our boot and pot limit guide.
